Here, in no particular order, are a collection of words that I want to remember or always forget:

Polysyndeton: A writing device where the same conjunction is repeated over. And, and, and...

Anaphora: A writing device where the same word is repeated over and over again. Then, then, then...

Synecdoche: A literary device whereby a part of a thing represents the entire thing, such as "hands" for a ships crew or "sails" for ships.

Metonymy: A literary device where a part of a thing is used to represent the entire thing with which it is closely associated. For example, "crown" for royalty.


Tergiversator: hedger, a respondent who avoids giving a clear direct answer
